Tell It Like It Is Poem

No fronts, no masks, no veils blurring reality
It should feel easy, not like mental brutality
Don’t glorify, be who you are
But I don’t sing, I’m not a genius, and I sure as hell don’t spit bars

My mediocre wishes are for less mediocrity
To sprint into abnormality and have no one stop me
To have Hemingway’s talent and Blake Lively’s hair
And for people to stop telling me that life isn’t fair

My mind is a flat line and my poems are too flowery
I hold it all in and push no boundaries
It’s a sin that normality is the punishment for being real

When others try to find you and you only have one layer to peel

  1. I really enjoyed this poem, claud! I thought it was super real and something I could really relate to. It was great the way you talked about Hemingway and Blake Lively. I thought that was not only funny but also a very authentic feeling: everyone feels that way sometimes. Also I thought it was real that you talked about how there is no shame in being simply average. Thanks for a great poem!
