When producing beats, the magic comes out when it wants to
I sit down and say “I’m gonna make a hit!”,
But I come out empty handed,
When I sit down and forget about life,
At that one moment when nothing else is blocking my thought process
I get lost in the perfectly produced beat already created in my head
Then I piece it together on my computer like a puzzle
Sometimes it’s 1000 pieces,
Sometimes it’s 10,
Every sound has to work with each other sound in the beat,
One bad sound can ruin the track,
I feel a jump in my stomach,
like when you’re about to hit the drop on a roller coaster when I make something I really like,
Except I get it when the beat drops,
That’s when I know I’m on the right track,
When all the pieces align perfectly on top of each other
Creating a radiant sonorous piece of gold
I really enjoyed reading this poem. I think you did an awesome job showing all the different elements that go into beat-making and how passionate you are about it. It's very well written and descriptive. Also I think it's a fresh and unique topic to write about. Even though I don't know a lot about producing my own music, I could really see the process while reading this.
ReplyDeleteI really did told me "what it is" because I think you used great imagery with this but it would be better to show than to tell.
