Spoken Word Performance "To JK Rowling, from Cho Chang"

I really like this piece and her performance of it. I thought it was an awesome idea because it could be copy changed for characters and authors of other books. I read the books and saw the movies and was surprised at how many points she brings up that I hadn't noticed about her character.

  1. I really enjoyed this spoken word piece because it was completely different from what I was expecting. The author does a great job of presenting stereotypes in the Harry Potter books that I have to admit I wasn't completely aware of before. Her words really made me think twice about what I had read. Also, her delivery made it that much more powerful and interesting.

  2. The end of this was completely unexpected. It was a very powerful turn in the poem that related Cho back to her, and it gave me the chills. It also not only brings up important questions about JK Rowling and Cho Chang, but also about Dumbledore and sexuality, another great point. Like you said under the video, Leah, it would be cool to do a copy-change of this with Dumbledore instead and carry out that idea she alluded to.
