Tell It Like It Is

Tell It Like It Is
Hip-Hop: “real deal”, authenticity, no frontin’
*you tell someone how IT really is, something you’re an “expert” in
ex. teenage culture, being an american, sports

Always keep it real
Cause i’ve always been the best
I’m an expert with these raps
But everyday’s a test
Always on the move
Never getting any rest
There’s no sleep in house like mine
I was staying up till midnight
at the age of nine
told myself it was fine
Sat down and started writing
Everything I heard trying to block out the fighting
I was scared of little things like thunder and lighting
But now I don’t know a damn thing that i find frightening
So its crazy
I’m the king of this game
Cause last time I checked
nobody knew my name
its a shame
peep me in the hall of fame
for the glory
so u could go around and tell another story
but if it’s about u being on these “streets”
then please don’t bore me
people ignore me
they snoring’
they sleepin on the kid
but because i keep it real
i don’t know if this will be it
im not the one
cuz i don’t have the story bout the life w a gun
I’m authentic
your fake
all your cars are rented
I’m on that
little for tuition but worth every penny
I’ve been the best
damn

cooch the rapper of the century

  1. This was really great. I liked your rhyme scheme a lot and I thought the content really "kept it real."
