"To Zion"
The song starts off with an infectious guitar melody, followed by hard hitting snare drums, and a soulful baseline. "To Zion" intended for her son Zion, who's father, married at the time is Rohan Marley, son of famous Reggae singer Bob Marley. Throughout the song, Lauryn turns the negativity about having a baby with a married man into a positive situation. She did not let the bad publicity associated with having a child in the music industry to distract her from her career. You can hear in Lauryn's tone that she obviously loves her son. Her trills in her vocals make the song at times angelic which suits some of her biblical allusions. Overall the song is a powerful addition to the album.
