In X factor Lauryn Hill portrays a struggling relationship between Lauryn and a man she loves. She continually realizes this man cant give her what she needs but she believes she can live with him and make this situation a success. This song describes a poor relationship eloquently even though this man is a screw up s she feels she cant live without him. Whenever she is sure this man shouldn't be with her she thinks of all the good that comes with his bad. However instead of continuing her relationship she deicides to cut all of her ties with this man by saying See “I know what we've got to do You let go, and I'll let go too” this line separates herself from this man she freed herself from this relationship which would never be successful and thus saving herself from a poor situation.
