The song "Doo Wop" by Lauryn Hill, she speaks about how people want "that thing" from people. "That thing" could be a number of things, ranging from sex, money, and fame. Her first verse is about how men will use women for sex, and then never talk to them again. You can see this in the first line, where she says "It's been three weeks since you were looking for your friend. The one you let hit and never called you again.". This line shows that a girl met a guy that she liked, but after he "hit it", he never called her again, and never had plans to. She said that guys that are blowing money on useless things are usually the most immature guys out there, and that people shouldn't be attracted to money. The second verse is directed to speak to the men about what they shouldn't be, and all the traits of men that girls do not like. "How you gonna win when you ain't right within?" is another line, saying that you cannot do well in life if you do not know who you are inside.
